Hindu Holy Places
India has thousands of tirtha’s or places of pilgrimage that Hindu’s visit each year. For example the Seven Ancient Holy Towns and the Four Maha Kumbha Mela sites. The Seven Ancient Holy Towns are Ayodhya , Mathura, Haridwar, Varanasi, Kanchipuram, Dvaraka, and Ujjain. The Four Maha Kumbha Mela Sites are Prayaga, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nasik. They also have Four Holy Dhamas. The Four Holy Dhammas are Puri, Rameshwaram, Dwarak, and Badrinath. Hindu’s think that the Ganges river was very holy as well.
